As an organization, one of our focuses is on Affordable Housing. We understand that in order to be engaged in issues of economic security where there is opportunity to impact policy on a local level, we have to address the affordable housing crisis in the Asheville region.
In 2019, the Voices for Economic Justice group decided to tackle some of the issues regarding affordable housing. Our Affordable Housing Strategy Team meets monthly and works on important housing issues in our community
We are currently working on a plan for a Centralized Rental Application, a housing agenda, and an education component of our housing work for our community, and are focused on advocacy work around housing policy.
