We are gearing up for an exciting Fall!

 

RAISING WAGES NC LABOR DAY WEEK OF ACTION will begin September 1st with Labor Sabbath and include:

     Thee Transylvania County Labor Day Weekend Picnic, 11-1pm on the rounds of Silvermont on Saturday, Participation in the Canton Labor Day parade at 10am on Monday in downtown Canton, An interfaith film showing and discussion on Wednesday September 6th at 7pm at Congregation Beth Ha Tephila in Asheville, and a rally to honor laborers and the Love Letters to Workers Celebratory March beginning at 5:30pm on South Tunnerl Road in Asheville out front of the closed Dairy Queen.

 

Spaces are available for our Fall Voices for Economic Justice workshop series on Monday nights for 8 weeks beginning on September 11th.  Contact Amy Cantrell for more information or to pre-register for this free program for self-identified low-income people.  You can contact Amy at 828-505-7466 or amy@justeconomicswnc.org

 

Just Economics is also co-hosting an Asheville City Council Primary Candidate's Forum with Asheville on Bikes on September 25th at the Wedge Foundation 6-7:30

 

Our next Bi-Monthly General Meeting is October 17th, at 6pm at the United Way.
