Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Development Associate will spearhead development efforts as Just Economics continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the Development Associate will have the opportunity to increase our fundraising capacity and build upon our foundation. Just Economics has a well-established fundraising committee and a history of fundraising relationships to build upon. The position is half time with an expected 20 hrs/week with the possibility of becoming full time.
–Help develop and execute Just Economics’ annual fundraising plan
–Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and businesses
–Manage the implementation of Salesforce and oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processing
–Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
–Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
–Oversee organization of special events including our main annual fundraisers Just Brew It in the late spring and our Annual Celebration/Fall Fundraising Appeal
–Develop and track grant proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
*Commitment to the mission of Just Economics
*Understanding of social change organizations and economic justice work
*Demonstrated excellence in organizational and communication skills
*Experience writing and managing grants
*Experience organizing fundraisers
*Two years experience in development a plus
*Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
The position is half time and the compensation package is budgeted for around $17.25hr ($15.75/hr base wage plus $1.50/hr benefits check to begin after the first 90 days)
